Andrew Wyeth - RIP

Hi All,

Today we lost a master. Mr. Andrew Wyeth, a famed, American realist painter passed away in his sleep at the age of 91. Mr. Wyeth was an inspiration to many artists through the years. He accomplished so much as a painter. When abstract expressionism and all the other "isms" in art were popping up all over the world, Mr. Wyeth gave us realism. The kind of art that shows us life as it is through the eyes of the artist. We see rural America through Andrew Wyeth's eyes; and to me that is a powerful example of the legacy he leaves.

Those of you who know me well also know the art of Andrew Wyeth inspired me as an artist early in my professional artist career. His work exemplified what realism and rural subjects were supposed to be like. Because I live and was raised in rural America I can truly identify with Mr. Wyeth's paintings. No doubt many of you reading this can as well.
